About Avianca
Avianca is Colombia's flag carrier, based in Bogota, and a member of Star Alliance. It belongs to Abra Group, the holding company that also controls GOL of Brazil. After a restructuring, Avianca moved to a hybrid model: short and medium-haul flights are sold with unbundled fares similar to a low-cost airline, while long-haul aircraft keep a business class cabin. Bogota El Dorado is the main hub, with further bases in Medellin, San Salvador and other Latin American cities. The network covers Colombia, Central America, South America, the Caribbean, North America and several European cities.
