Cookie policy

1. What cookies and local storage are

A cookie is a small text file a website places in your browser so that it can recognise you on later requests. Local storage is a similar store inside your browser that the website can read and write but that is not sent with every request. Both stay on your device, and you can delete them at any time through your browser settings.

2. Cookies we set

• ia_session: set when you log in. It holds a random token that identifies your session; only a hash of it is stored on our side. It is marked HttpOnly and Secure, is limited to this site, and lasts 30 days or until you log out. Strictly necessary.
• ia_sent_to: set for 15 minutes after sign-up or a password reset request so that the "check your email" page can show which address the email went to. Strictly necessary.
• ia_dev_link: used only on preview and testing hosts, never on iata.co.
• Cloudflare Turnstile may set a cookie (for example cf_clearance) while it checks that a sign-up is made by a person and not a script. Strictly necessary for the sign-up form; not used for tracking.

3. Local storage we use

• theme: your dark or light choice, so the site opens in the theme you picked.
• ia_search: your last flight search (route, dates, travellers, cabin) so the search form is pre-filled next time. Stored only in your browser.
• ia_panel_mini: whether you collapsed the sidebar in your dashboard.

None of these leave your browser, none identify you to us and none are read by anyone else.

4. What we do not use

We do not use advertising cookies, social media pixels, cross-site tracking or third-party analytics services. Our traffic statistics are built from our own server logs with a visitor identifier that is a one-way hash of the network address and browser and that changes every day, so it cannot be used to follow a person over time. That is why this site does not need a cookie consent banner.

5. Managing cookies

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the session cookie you will not be able to stay logged in. Clearing local storage only resets your theme and your last search.

6. Changes

If we add a cookie or a storage key we will update this page and the date at the top. Questions: info@iata.co.
