About LATAM Airlines

LATAM Airlines is a South American airline group formed from Chile's LAN and Brazil's TAM. The holding company is based in Santiago, and affiliates operate in Chile, Brazil, Peru, Colombia and Ecuador, with hubs at Santiago, Sao Paulo Guarulhos, Lima and Bogota. LATAM left oneworld in 2020 and today is not a member of any global alliance. Instead it works closely with Delta Air Lines, which is a shareholder. Flights cover domestic markets in its home countries, routes across South America, and long-haul services to North America, Europe and Oceania. Widebodies carry Premium Business and economy cabins.

LATAM affiliates use different two-letter codes, so a single itinerary may show LA alongside codes such as JJ or LP. On IATA.co, LATAM Airlines fares appear in your search results whenever our flight suppliers offer them for your route and dates. You search live fares in the booking portal or through the flights API and pay from your prepaid balance. Domestic and international fare families differ, and their rules are shown before you confirm.

LATAM Airlines airline codes explained

LATAM Airlines uses the two-letter IATA airline code LA and the three-letter ICAO code LAN. The IATA code LA is the one shown on tickets, fare displays and booking screens, while the ICAO code LAN is used in air traffic control and flight planning.

LATAM Airlines is a full-service carrier, based in Chile, operating mainly from Santiago (SCL). It is not part of a global airline alliance.

Booking LATAM Airlines fares as a travel agent

Travel agents book LATAM Airlines fares on IATA.co without their own IATA accreditation. Activate an agency account, top up a prepaid balance, then search live LA fares in the booking portal: the price, baggage and fare rules are shown with each offer before you confirm, and the amount is deducted from your balance. LATAM Airlines results appear whenever our flight suppliers return them for your route and dates, so what you can book follows live supplier content rather than a direct airline deal.

Search LATAM Airlines (LA) through the flights API

Developers and agencies can run the same LATAM Airlines search from their own site, app or back office through the IATA.co flights API. Filter a search by the carrier code LA and read the fares back as JSON, then book from the same prepaid balance. See the flights API and the API docs for the full reference.
